Clear Out the Clutter
It’s easy to get used to the
clutter in our houses. We
don’t notice the books on the
stairway or the shoes piled up
on the bedroom floor after
they’ve been there a while.
- Don’t let hazards hide in
plain sight. Something you
walk by every day could trip
you up. If you want to lower
your risk for a dangerous fall,
it might be time to change
your perspective.
- Take a few minutes to
walk around and look for
problem areas, such as loose
rugs and electrical cords.
While clutter anywhere could
be a problem, look closely at
what’s on the floors.
- Clear out things such as
newspapers and magazines,
grandchildren’s toys, and
items you intend to put away
once you find the time.
