How Does Paramount Elite Work When
I am Traveling Outside of the Service Area?
You will find clarification of Urgently
Needed Care benefits in your Evidence
of Coverage/Member Handbook on
page 24. If you are planning to travel,
please review this information before
your trip so you are familiar with your
coverage. In summary, Paramount Elite
will pay its share of the costs in
reimbursement, which means you
are responsible for your copayment
and any billing in excess of the local
Medicare Fee Schedule.
To avoid extra cost, you should
advise any provider that Paramount
Elite is a Medicare Advantage plan and
that it should bill Paramount Elite
directly using the Medicare Fee
Schedule. You can request that the
facility contact the Member Services
Department and select the phone
option for provider if it needs
information on how to submit a
claim to Paramount for your services.
The Member Services contact
information is conveniently printed on
the back your Paramount ID card.
If the facility states that you must
pay for your services in advance, you
should insist that you receive a detailed
billing statement that clearly states that
you are being charged at the local
Medicare Fee Schedule. Paramount will
then reimburse you for this amount
minus your copayment.
