The Pharmacy and Therapeutics Working Group, a subgroup of the Medical Advisory Council at Paramount, has reviewed and approved changes to the Preferred Drug List.

This Preferred Drug List includes brand-name prescription drugs available at the preferred-brand copayment level if a generic drug is not available. When a brand-name drug on this preferred list becomes generically available, the brand-name drug will no longer be offered at the preferred-brand copayment level. The generic version will be offered at the generic copayment level. The brand-name version, called a multisource brand, may not be covered or may be available at higher copayment levels.

Prilosec OTC^® and all loratadine (Claritin^®) pro ducts continue to be covered for all Paramount members at the generic copayment. A prescription is necessary for the pharmacy to process the drugs under your prescription benefit.
