Get Your Heart Back on Track

Photo of an older woman and manAre you or someone you’re close to recovering from a serious cardiac illness, surgery or procedure? Do you have fatigue or symptoms that keep you from returning to your normal activities? Are you wondering whether it’s safe to return to your routines at work and home? Do you have questions about what happened to your heart? Do you wonder how you can prevent problems from happening again? Cardiac rehabilitation may be the answer.

A cardiac rehab program provides you with intense education, emotional support and exercise therapy, during which your heart is monitored. Unfortunately, only an estimated 25 percent of cardiac patients with Commercial and Medicare/Medicaid insurance join a rehab program. If you’re recovering from a cardiac event, or if angina or heart failure limits your daily activities, ask your doctor whether cardiac rehab is right for you.

For more information, please call Member Services at 1-419-887-2525 or 1-800-462-3589 to discuss your benefits and a list of in-Plan cardiac rehabilitation programs.
