![]() ![]() | Study Shows the MMR Vaccine Doesn’t Cause Autism Measles cases have been on the rise because many parents are worried that the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine causes autism. They’re not getting their children immunized, so the kids are getting measles. In addition to years of research that disproves the autism link, a recent small study showing the safety of the MMR vaccine will hopefully change parents’ minds. Researchers copied a 1998 study that suggested the MMR shot was connected to autism and digestive problems. They looked for the measles virus in autistic children and kids who didn’t have autism. All the children had digestive problems. The researchers found that there wasn’t a link between the MMR shot and children with autism and digestive problems. |
