Putting Off Your Checkup?
Are you feeling worried or nervous
about the idea of a checkup?
These tips may help ease your
fears:
- Know that the doctor sees
patients every day who face
the same health issues you
may have. So try not to feel
embarrassed.
- Your doctor’s job is to help
you get and stay healthy, not
to judge you.
- You can bring a friend or
family member. That person
can ask your questions for you.
- Are you scared of getting
a “bad” report? Tell your
doctor this at the start of
the checkup. He or she can
explain what tests will be
done.
- Know that it is always
better to find and start fixing
health problems early before
they have a chance to become
more serious.
